This can be done by starting at about 3 meters in from the top-side end ofROV, with the tether (away from the ROV)laying in your palm, and attachslowly walking down the tetherlength of the tether, allowing excess twists to the spool using either a clove hitch or some tape. Continue doing this until the tether will set the distance between the topside adapter box and where the tether handler is working- it candoesn't seem to be longer or shorter depending upon your needsuntwisting any more. [* black] Work your way towards the ROV, wrappingOptionally, mark the tether ontoevery 10 meters or so, starting at the spool in a figure-8 patternROV end. This pattern preventscan be done with small pieces of electrical tape, inserted between the wire twists from forming in the tether as it is wrapped and unwrapped [* black] When you reachtaped against themselves. Write on the ROV, taketape the 3-meter starting end and wrap it across the remainderrunning length of the spooled tether, holding everything in place.
