How to remove stuck motor shield?

After removing the snap ring on the last motor, I found it impossible to pull the shield off. I can get out about 1/8th of an inch then it seems to get stuck. I can't see whats causing it to not come out. All other motors it was a piece of cake. Any suggestions as to what going on and how to resolve the issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hello Michael,

Are you still having an issue with this or were you able to remove it?

We couldn't remove it but worked around the issue. The only problem is there is no way to pot the motor since its stuck inside.

Hello Michael,

What do you mean there is no way to pot the motor? Are you talking about the epoxy for the propeller?

-Brian G.

by

Yes, we can't do the potting of that motor with epoxy since the outer motor bell cannot be removed. The other two we had no issue.

Hello Michael,

You should be able to complete the build even without removing the motor bell. It will be a little more challenging but still possible. If you would like we can send you a new motor to replace this one. If you would like to go this route please fill out this form.

Hi Brian,

We'll move ahead with what we have right now. We have been able to get all the wiring soldered and the motor mounted, so I think we'll be OK.

Thanks!
