Typical frame rate for video stream with stock camera and good PC?

I'm very interested in purchasing an OpenRov 2.8 kit, but I'm seeing a lot of choppy videos on YouTube (<15 FPS) and it has me a bit concerned. I understand that weak processors might be the cause, but I can't find any videos of the ROV streaming at 30 frames per second, except for the new HD cam footage which looks amazing. Is 30 FPS streaming possible from the stock Genius camera (and a high end processor), or will I need to buy the HD camera?

Hello Thomas,

The current camera is set at 15 FPS as the system can not handle much higher of a frame rate. The camera also drops the frame rate in darker situations. The new camera uses a different file format and compression which allows for the much higher frame rate and quality.

If you have additional questions I would encourage you to check out of Forum.

Thank you, Brian. I'll probably end up going with the HD camera upgrade.
