Calibration algorithm in fusion modes

I'm using IMU-Depth Module for the developing of a biomimetic robot fish.

I've read that in fusion modes manual calibration is not necessary, because there is an algorithm that makes continousely the calibration in background.

I'd like to know which algorithm is used. Thanks
