ubuntu 14.4 as my os

I am running ubuntu 14.4 I cannot seem to figure out how to connect. I need to configure for ipv4 right? Or for ethernet. Can anybody help

Also how can I load a screen shot

Ive figured out how to set up the connection . However I cant seem to select the network (wired network1) in this instance. Away from workshop right now so ...... collecting info and will try again in a few days.
