Waterproofing thrusters for ocean use (bearing upgrade and motor coating)
In this "Community Hack" writer Paul suggests using Rustoleum clear enamel on the windings armatures of the motors for corrosion abatement. Has anyone found this technique to be as effective as "potting" the windings in epoxy (as suggested in other forums)? If so, then The cost and simplicity alone might cause us to favor this process.
WHere do we get the replacement bearings as described in this hack? Any prefered vendor?
Sounds like this might be easier to do at time of initial assembly vs. retrofit. What are your feelings on this being incorporated in to the "provided assembly instructions?"
Is this a good question?
