I wanted to know what's the maximum deep the robot is able to join ?
Is this a good question?
Are you sure you want to delete this zzzzzz?
The depth rating of the OpenROV v2.8 is 100 meters.

Hi Brian, what's the tolerance on the 100 m limit? We're wanting to have a look at some seafloor which is about 115 m deep, so just outside the v2.8's range. Is there anyway to make it a little more waterproof?
The tolerance on that limit depends on how well you construct the endcaps on the electronics tube. It is not the waterproofing part that will fail, but the increase in pressure, which will cause the endcaps to shear off and collapse into the tube. You can do a search on the forum to see what other people have done in order to travel deeper (https://forum.openrov.com/). While I can not guarantee that a stock 2.8 will work past 100 meters, there is some wiggle room in there and with a careful build should be ok. You will also need to extend the length of the tether. I would love to hear what you end up deciding to do and how it works out. Please let me know if you have additional questions. -Brian G.
